I wish To run an RPC-based host about an EC2 example. I should open the assigned port for the example about my nearby firewall. Since I don't wish To need to redo this each time I launch an example, it will be helpful to learn the range of potential IP addresses, thus I may open the port for the entire range.

This answer is not cast in stone; Factors found on the Internet are usually changing plus more address ranges can be added inside the future, similarly, the active address block can, officially, disappear plus be changed, still, the current block is

NetRange: 216.182.224.0 - 216.182.239.255

CIDR: 216.182.224.0/20

NetName: AMAZON-AES

NetHandle: NET-216-182-224-0-1

Parent: NET-216-0-0-0-0

The safest method to check the CIDR inside that a current instance is running is with this script:

whois `dig $INSTANCENAME a

| grep "^domU" | awk '{print $5}'`@whois.arin.net

| grep CIDR

However relying about an IP address alone is not very wise safety.

Can we provide an up-to-date list of IP ranges? I see there are several IPs inside the 72.44.32.0 - 72.44.63.255 range, anything else?

Thanks

When again to re-iterate what I wrote initially, which these are flexible plus may change (either by adding or removing) at any time, though the present set because of November, 2007 today comprises:

67.202.0.0/18 (67.202.0.0 - 67.202.63.255)

216.182.224.0/20 (216.182.224.0 - 216.182.239.255)

72.44.32.0/19 (72.44.32.0 - 72.44.63.255)

Thanks
